Digital Content Group Supervisor

Charleston | Orwig
Austin, Texas
August 2014 - August 2015

What began as an opportunity to join the team as a social media strategist quickly evolved into an opportunity to earn new business and lead a robust team of community managers who created unique, authentic social presences for highly-regulated brands in the agriculture and food industries.

The common thread between brands and consumers is relationships. Nurturing those relationships with a transparent brand voice while establishing a foundation of brand advocates who can create original content and help tell the brands stories was a significant responsibility of this role.

Brooke served as the lead community manager for Smithfield Foods, which is the largest hog producer in the world. Additionally, she lead the Bayer CropScience blogger influencer, as well as social strategy for Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), Illinois Soybean Association, Dairyland Seed and others.

Travel Writer and Social Media Manager

Koch Communications
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
September 2011 - March 2013

Every once in a while a job comes around solidifying your career path. For Brooke, this was her position as travel writer and social media manager for Chickasaw Country. Through Koch Communication, Brooke served as guest, liaison and advocate to festivals and events as the voice – and face – of Chickasaw Country.

Her passion for rural Oklahoma’s economic development and tourism was a catalyst for establishing and cultivating relationships with business owners, city leadership and regional media. During Chickasaw Country’s infancy, Brooke established the Chickasaw Country voice and tone, created original content, and launched all social media properties.

Her efforts earned the prestigious 2013 Oklahoma Red Bud for Social Media Campaign, 2013 U.S. Travel Association Destiny Award for Best Use of Social Media Platform and 2012 PRSA Upper Case for Social Media Project accolades.

Oklahoma Pork Council
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
February 2010 - August 2011

As the Director of Promotions, Brooke established social media properties garnering statewide print, web and television earned media. This, partnered with her responsibilities as media buyer, event planner and graphic designer served as a catalyst of brand awareness to Oklahoma's pork producers. Additionally, she unknowingly fell head over heels for digital media.

For Brooke, the biggest takeaway from this position was to juggle – efficiently – many moving pieces. From managing a large budget to rebranding the organization to redesigning the bi-monthly member magazine, she learned to manage projects, coordinate with a hands-on board, and network professionally.
